It’s been a while, but I’m very glad to announce that I have two new songs out on May 31st. I’ve been working on them over the last few months out of my studio, and I think the sound is a slight departure from the last few EW releases, incorporating some new sounds that we haven’t had on record up until this point. I engineered and produced everything, and also played all of the instruments with the exception of the pedal steel (which was performed by David Finch). The subject matter of the songs is one of those topics that can be frighteningly commonplace and yet somehow glazed over at times. One of those things that when it happens in your town you can’t believe it, but it also happens so much it’s hard to even keep up with the blur of details. Tune in to find out what I’m talking about next Friday. I’m really proud of these songs. It’s hard to write about some topics, and this one is no exception.

The Homegrown performance is happening on 6.1 and 6.2 here in Charlotte. (tickets here) If you’re in the area and you’re interested in hearing and seeing this amazing collaboration (and you should be!) click the ticket link.
